Dennis R. Nelson was taken home on May 24, 2024. He was 71 years old. There will be a viewing on Wednesday the 29th from 6-8 p.m., funeral services will be held Thursday the 30th at 11 a.m. at Wilderness Funeral Homes-Malta. On May 22, 1925, the Malta Commercial Club met and discussed building a road from the Henry W. Martin place on the Big Bend of the Milk River northeast of Malta to Whitewater. The County Commissioners had no funds, so a committee was appointed to secure funds. A committee of businessmen met with a group of Whitewater farmers. Dear Editor, On the evening of May 16, 2024, there was a knock at our door. There stood a young teenager asking if he could borrow our broom and dustpan. The Malta track and field teams competed at the 2024 State B Track and Field meet in Laurel last weekend. The two-day event started on Friday, May 24, and ended on Saturday, May 25.
