During the latest Malta City Council meeting on April 26, Delsi and Eric Witmer asked the council for permission to hang Hometown Hero Banners on the light poles around town. The couple will be taking orders for the banners soon. “When we lived back east, many towns had Hometown Hero signs all over. We had heavy rain on Tuesday night and there were puddles in all the low places on Wednesday morning. A little drop in temperature sure made a difference in the color of the lawns; greener everywhere. There was a light rain on Wednesday night and again on Friday night. During a meeting of our cabin owners association last fall it was suggested that one of those little free libraries would be a good addition to the community. For the past six months, members of Little White Church (LWC) in Malta and Saco Methodist Church (SMC) have been led by a new pastor for the first time in 28 years. On November 20, 2021, LWC and SMC welcomed Pastor Steve Anderson, his wife of 15 years Leslie Anderson, and their 14-year-old son Ehren, from Bergholz, Ohio. Last Tuesday, April 26, Northstar High School hosted the long-awaited Cal Wearley Memorial track meet in Havre, a meet that was originally scheduled to happen on April 6, but was rescheduled due to weather. Both the Mustangs and M-ettes golf teams had a busy week last week with three golf meets attended and one canceled. On Monday, April 25, the teams were in Fort Benton. The Malta High School Choir had a very successful weekend at District Music Festival in Wolf Point April 22nd and 23rd. The full choir performed on Friday, and received I’s, or Superior, ratings from both adjudicators. They also did a great job on the sight reading portion of the adjudication.
