The cast included MCT tour actor Matthew Hogan as Gep...

  • If you don't like the weather...

    Parker Heinlein, Outdoor Columnist|May 4, 2016

They say if you don’t like the weather in Montana wait 15 minutes. Well, I’ve been waiting a lot longer than that and it’s still snowing. Spring lures you outside with balmy breezes and azure skies. The willows bud out, and caddis flies start to hatch on the river. Folks are playing golf in shorts. You can hear the sound of lawnmowers and smell fresh cut grass. Then the sun slips behind a cloud, the wind picks up and it starts to rain. In 15 minutes the clouds have lowered and it’s snowing...

  • The short stay of Chippie the Chipmunk

    Jimmy Reed, Columnist|May 4, 2016

My brother Ronnie and I were nothing alike. He was good; I was bad. Curious about everything, I got into trouble constantly, and received many a switching because of Ronnie’s snitching. Occasionally, though, events worked in my favor. Such was the case with his good buddy, Chippie the Chipmunk. Wild creatures interested Dad, and if he caught one, he’d bring it home for a few days before setting it free. Once he brought home a chipmunk and put it in a birdcage. “Boys, what shall we name him?” I suggested Monk, but Dad preferred Ronnie...

  • Confessions of a sports fanatic

    Pierre Bibbs, Sports Editor|May 4, 2016

When I was younger, I appreciated sports of every kind. Sure I had my favorites in the sports realm. I first loved basketball. To this day, I think that the 90’s Bulls in their prime could beat any team today. My second love was football. I always have been a fan of the Chicago Bears and I always will. I have been a fan of the White Sox since I was seven and the Blackhawks since college. People have always said hockey wasn’t a “black” sport, but to me hockey has always been exciting. If you’ve...
