To say the event on Friday evening had "standing room only" is accurate, considering the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum was designed for viewing, not sitting. Douglas Cunningham, who wrote and filmed "Daughter of the Plains" arrived in Malta on Thursday evening to prepare for the open house at the museum on Friday. Russell Duane Cebulski, 96, passed away October 13, 2024, at the Phillips County Hospital in Malta, Mont. Russ was born April 20, 1928, to Nick and Bertha (Mitchell) Cebulski in the Edwards House just north of the old Milk River Bridge. Russ joined his parents and older brother Raymond. Russ and Raymond worked with their parents in whatever they could make a living at farming, ranching, and laundry. Ethel A. (Cummings) Hoover passed away November 6, 2024 at the Chinook Sweet Home Nursing Home. Ethel was born in Phillips County on July 28, 1937 and stayed in the community until 1976 when she moved to Ronan, MT. She worked as a head cook for Ronan School District until she retired. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, playing cards, live music and dancing. The North Country Lady Mavericks volleyball team's season came to an end at the State C Tournament last Saturday, November 16.
