The local VFW Auxiliary was able to convince three individuals of the importance of serving as a judge for the Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen essays. Bright and early on Monday morning, veterans made their way to the Malta High School cafeteria, where they were greeted by young ladies as school representatives and Principal Shawn Bleth. At short notice, due various scheduling conflicts and other interruptions, the veterans were invited to come, visit, share and enjoy time with the youth. On October 30, 2024 Thomas Keith Anderson age 81 went home to be with the Lord. After 81 years of hard work and dedication to life Tom went to be with his savior after he finished chores one last time. Tom was born in Scobey, MT on December 30,1942 to his parents Oscar and Vera Anderson and was the sixth of 7 children. Russell Duane Cebulski, 96, passed away October 13, 2024, at the Phillips County Hospital in Malta, Mont. Russ was born April 20, 1928, to Nick and Bertha (Mitchell) Cebulski in the Edwards House just north of the old Milk River Bridge. Russ joined his parents and older brother Raymond. Russ and Raymond worked with their parents in whatever they could make a living at farming, ranching, and laundry. James Roman Losleben, known to many as Jim, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024, in Kalispell, Montana, surrounded by family and close friends. Alysa Jensen age, 23, from Hinsdale, Montana passed away unexpectedly on October 25, 2024 in a vehicle accident just North of Saco, Montana.
