A true and lifelong Malta area native, Leona Mae Nelson Robertson passed away on February 12, 2018, due to complications of dementia and influenza. Leona was born in Malta on March 7, 1928, and was raised until the age of seven on the Nelson Family Homestead in Content, Mont. Leona's family moved to Malta in 1935 where she has resided ever since. Her parents, Leonard B. Nelson born in Sweden and Christine M. Don Raymond Chase, 91, a resident of Butte since 1966, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, at St. James Healthcare surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Malta, Mont., the son of Hazel McNaught and Arthur Chase. Don received his education in Malta. His family traveled the region, doing farm work. Preparations are being made for a Preschool Screening for children from the ages of birth to 5 ½ years old. Screening tests are not diagnostic.
