International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is the one day a year when people affected by suicide loss gather in their local communities to find comfort and gain understanding as they share stories of healing and hope. Survivor Day was created by an act of Congress in 1999 and since then has been sponsored and supported by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Charles (Chuck) Butler McAdams, 85, of Billings, Mont., passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at his home with some family and his wife, Alice, by his side. Chuck had been terminally ill with esophagus cancer and his wishes were to remain at home until he left this earth. It turned bitter cold and snowed as the weekend approached. On Thursday, a bad break in the water line downtown had erupted and spread water over a large area. The entire main part of town and the south end were without water until Sunday morning. When someone was finally located to come and repair the line, it was snowing lightly and the wind made it bitter cold. We thank the men for working on it in the bitter cold.
