Editor, Your 100 years ago research may bring out the story about Will and Laura Claypool. Will and Laura were neighbors and married in 1916, homesteading in Black Coulee. Your recent 100 years ago column found that Laura Claypool died in childbirth in 1917. Please note that both Will and the baby died in the 1918 flu epidemic. They were both buried in the same casket. MALTA- Dennis Zane Robinson, a US Navy veteran, died Wednesday, December 27th at his home after battling cancer. He was 70 years old. Denny is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served on the USS Pine Island destroyer and the Hancock aircraft carrier. He was born in 1947 in Cut Bank, Montana and as a young child, lived in Sunburst and Ferndale, Montana. He moved to Malta in 1960. Denny served six years in the United States Navy. With the coming of a new year, the Malta Senior Citizens begins with happenings at the Center. The third Annual Biscuits and Gravy is scheduled for Saturday January 13 at the Center from 11-1:30. The free will offering will begin the fund towards new windows on the south side of the building and new tile for the hallway. The Malta Mustangs were able to outlast the Roundup Panthers in the first action of 2018 in the Malta High School Gymnasium. The win came after the team's 55-42 loss to the Rocky Boy Northern Stars on Friday, January 5. The Coyote Den was full for the first home games for the Dodson Coyotes and Lady Coyotes on Friday, January 5.
