This was a weird year. I loved a lot of things about 2023. My favorite thing was taking intentional time with my family. For the past many years, the Malta Dirt Daubers Garden Club has sponsored "The Christmas Merchant Barrel Decorating Contest" This year there were many beautifully decorated barrels. The Malta Middle School seventh-grade and eighth-grade girls' basketball teams won matching titles at the 2023 Northeastern Montana Middle School Tournament in Malta on Saturday, December 9. The 7th Grade team ended their year 15-0, and the 8th Grade team was 14-1. Both teams faced their Harlem counterparts in the championship games. The 8th Grade won 30-28 and the 7th Grade won 30-29.
