    The Middle School Academic Olympics occurred on April 10th at Glasgow High School. Malta competed in the Class I section taking written tests in Math, English, Science, and Social Studies and the oral rounds. They competed against teams from Sidney, Plentywood, Glasgow, Fairview, Chinook, Glendive, and Wolf Point; a total of 72 students.     Malta Middle School students traveled to Glasgow on April 19th, 2023 to compete in the Academic Olympics. Members consisted of 8th graders: Tripp Lefdahl, Renzey Raymond, Oslo Stenberg, Carly Mears, Bridger Benton, Emma Ereaux, and 7th graders: Hunter Negus, Hudson Honey, Steeler Blunt, and Kruise Stiles.     Malta Middle School held its Spelling Bee on January 24, 2023. Titus Wiederrick and Peyton Branham battled back and forth for 7 rounds before a winner was declared.     Saco Spelling Bee - It came down to old versus new in Saco last week, at least in the ranks of middle and elementary schools. Saco eighth grader and spelling bee veteran Jaycee Erickson and fifth grade Laynee Simpson, in her first ever contest, faced off as the last two students standing in the school's spelling bee last Tuesday in the multipurpose room.
