    Robert Plouffe did not grow up in the country raising livestock but he has a lot to do with them after a fair. Robert and Betty Plouffe purchased the grocery and meat market in Saco from Buck and Deb Taylor in 1982. In 2000 they moved into the current Saco Pay-n-Save and by 2001 were handling the butchering for beef, pork and lamb after the county fairs.     Cathy Bear has been in Dodson since 1996 and taken care of the fairgrounds since 2001. "Berta Anderson came to my house in May of 2001 and saw how nice and green my grass was. At graduation time she asked me if I would be interested in being the yard maintenance person at the fairgrounds? I said, Sure.     The Kiwanis and Dirt Daubers assisted 3 groups at the Boys & Girls Club on Thursday, June 4 make arrangements for the Dirt Dauber Standard Flower Show. There was a K-2 group, 3rd - 5th and 6th through 9th. Everyone had a choice of using fruits & vegetables depicting "Life on the Prairie", gold nugget items on "Mining for Gold" or old car parts for "Racing into the Future".   • Malta Masons place 150 Masonic Markers at Malta Cemetery in memoriam of past members

    This is the second year the Masons have placed the Masonic markers at the Malta Cemetery. Interested in preserving the history of the Free Mason, the Malta Lodge #57 started doing research on past Masons and created the markers.     Montana Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc is the name of the Montana State Garden Club. On May Day the Saco Garden Club hosted the 2015 Hi-Line District #7 Spring Garden Club Meeting. The theme was “For The Birds” and the meeting was held at the Saco IOOF Hall. All in recognition of the Hi-Line District #7 Club’s accomplishments over the past year.     1 Years of Phillips County Fair, Past to Present Noel Emond grew up on a ranch in the Regina area and was involved in FFA during school. In 1958 Noel became the 4H Leader of the Regina Grasshopper 4H Club. They covered all aspects of programs from sewing to beef. He camped out with the kids in an old school bus at the Dodson Noel Emond Fairgrounds and sometimes even slept in the barn with the animals.     On Wednesday, April 8, at the Annual Women of Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (WELCA ) no host luncheon, Ruth Flansaas was honored as a "Faithful Quilter." Ruth and John moved from their Loring farm into Malta and she started the Hands All Around quilting club in their basement. Her first quilt was made with the help of Grace Simser.     1 Years of Phillips County Fair, Past to Present John G. Osmundson, Poultry Judge from Richey, MT traveled to Dodson during the 1920's. He raised turkeys, ducks and chickens.     On St. Patrick's Day several of you may have went out for a drink to celebrate. Well, several ladies also chose to do that and have a little artistic fun at ArtSpot.
