  • I Haven't Crawled Like That Since 1990

    Pierre Bibbs, Play Ball|Oct 19, 2022

Welp. I crawled into my crawl space. I have only been in my crawl space a few times over the last ten years, and hated it every time. This time. It was necessary. I needed a new dryer vent. In an attempt to save my father-in-law’s shoulder a lot of grief, I went below my house to try and install the new dryer vent hose. Unfortunately, I failed. This was due to my lack of understanding. For one, the hose was a little too short, and secondly, I needed a “crimping tool”. So, instead of savin...

  • I Just Turned 35 and Had a Birthday Party?

    Pierre Bibbs, Play Ball|Oct 12, 2022

Last Wednesday, October 5, I reached a milestone in terms of age. I turned 35. Typically I do not make a big deal about my day of birth. If someone was to ask me what I want for my birthday, typically I cannot provide an answer. Over the last few years the answer has been some type of sneaker. This year’s birthday sneaker is the Nike SB High Concepts Turdunken, which is a sneaker that I have wanted for a couple of years. Other than the yearly sneaker pick, I have no idea what I want for my b...

  • I'm Just Glad to Be Back in the Weight Room

    Pierre Bibbs, Play Ball|Oct 5, 2022

The good news is that I have been working out again. The bad news is that I feel older than I was when I last consistently lifted. I remember the peak of my “strength” being when I could throw four plates (405 pounds) on my back and squat out several reps before I had to rack them. This was roughly eight years ago. I remember wanting to be in the 1,000 pound club in high school. This meant the ability to one rep max 1,000 pounds between bench press, squats and deadlifts. I was probably good for...

  • Just Take the Compliment, Knucklehead

    Pierre Bibbs, Play Ball|Sep 21, 2022

I have many flaws, but one of my flaws is driving me crazier than the rest right now. I am working on it. When someone compliments you, what do you do? You simply say, thank you. Me? Oh boy. A neighbor approached me the other day and said, your lawn is looking good! My response? “The front looks okay but the backyard needs a ton of work.” I brought my wife breakfast at work one day, which is something that I typically try to do just so I can see her beautiful face one more time. One of her co-wo...
