    It rained close to 8/10” Wednesday afternoon. The rain also gave the Murdock Reunion at the Heartland resort an extra day of visiting. Those attending were the five Murdock kids, Jess, J.W., Lexie, Jeff and Kathleen and their families (grandkids and great grandkids), Jason Beil and Tyler Brunson, a family friend, who won the Norwegian Horseshoe Contest.     Another tragedy hit the community recently with the death of Jim and Sue Higgin's grand-daughter, who was killed in a car accident in Kansas. She was the daughter of Mike Higgins and wife. The Higgins family has been living at the Olsen farm for several years. Also, goodbye of an old and faithful friend, Arabelle McMullen. She and her husband Ray have lived north of Whitewater on the Brown farm for years. Monte, June, Jean Mavencamp and the Olsen families cleaned and decorated Forks Cemetery for Memorial Day.     Lu Besel and her sister, Anna Faye Simms, of Malta, drove out to the Little Rockies last weekend to honor the late Lucille and Newt Cummings with music and visiting. Lynn and Bruce Hill drove to Great Falls last Friday to attend the pinning and graduation of Anna Rose (wife of Mike Hill, a Whitewater alumni) who graduated from the College of Nursing.     Debbie and Brent Anderson are entertaining their two grandchildren, Sienna and Stryker for a few day before school starts. Stryker celebrated his seventh birthday recently in Helena where they and their parents, Jenna and Troy Simonton, now live. Shirley Duncan celebrated her birthday Sunday when her granddaughter, Mary and her husband, Ray Smails of Alder, Mont. Keenan LaBrie celebrated his sixth birthday with friends on August 6 in Malta.     It rained a couple tenths Wednesday night. The grass and weeds grew overnight! It was 95 degrees during the day. We did not have a storm thank goodness. Janet (Murdock) Berg of Malta drove her cousin, Mike, Forbes and his wife Maureen from Scotland out to the Murdock Ranch for Pat’s birthday party Wednesday afternoon. Mike’s grandmother was Peggi (Murdock) Forbes, Jim, Ree and Margie’s cousin. The Scotland couple returned to their home the next day.
