  • Tragic Day of 9/11 Remembered

    Kari Hould, PCN Staff|Sep 11, 2024

As you sit in the quiet of your home today, planning the week out and thinking about tomorrow, take a minute and think about the tragic event of “9/11” that changed the world. Just stop, sit quietly and think. On this day, September 11 in 2001, the students in the schools across the nation weren’t even born, yet. Still those hours of terrorist attacks on innocent lives left an impact that is comparable to previous dates that you can probably remember. Fortunately, a majority of the population was born and is able to remember the devastation. Wh...

    Kari Hould, PCN Staff|Sep 11, 2024

Even though Phillips County is thousands of miles from any city or location where the tragic event known as 9/11 even happened, it will be a part of the remembrances across the nation. From sea to shining sea, from grain fields to city streets and especially within hearts of those who were part of the world listening to the devastation on TV or the radio, few will ever forget that day. And that is understandable - it touched many lives, like the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., and the...

  • Hay There!

    Kari Hould, Karis Quiet Corner|Sep 4, 2024

One might think how neat it would be to send a drone over the valley or fly over on an ultralight, and view the progress of the year as farmers and ranchers begin to prepare to close out on the summer work. Along Highway 2 running west and east through the northern part of this big and glorious state, and miles and miles of hay bales on acres and acres of land. This might be the situation or picture next year with the water shortage along the Milk River Valley. From Fresno Dam, located at...
