The big 100 year celebration of the continuous Phillips County Fair and the Dodson All School Reunion are over after a busy and fanfare laden weekend. It was so nice to see the fairgrounds and the Town spruced up and so many campers, RVs and trailers, (and big pickups). (Cars are going to be outlawed one of these days!) Polly Solberg and Ruby Butterweck met at Carol Kienenberger’s on Sunday afternoon to work on World Relief kits. The children and their families of Edmund and Gloria Mortenson hosted a reception for them at the Dodson Lutheran Church to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday. On Thursday we said good-bye to a bit of Dodson history when the old McLeod store building was demolished by Ready Mix. The building, one of the oldest in Dodson, having been built shortly after that section, Dodson Original Township, was established and recorded as a Town in 1905, was and has been for several years, a hazard and an eyesore on Dodson’s main street. Polly Solberg and Dora Henry were in Billings this week for medical help. While there Polly stayed with son Tim and Heidi and family and was able to watch granddaughter Amanda in her last soccer game. Polly Solberg is spending several days in Ismay with son Nathan’s family, visiting and helping out with grandson, Devon, while his parents are away. Easter dinner for the public was served at the Dodson School on April 1. Thanks to the school for doing this and Hat’s off to the cooks for a wonderful dinner and the students who had the tables decorated so nice and served the people.
