The White Crosses were again put up in the Dodson Cemetery in honor of men and boys from the Dodson Area who served their country. A total of 116 crosses were put up this year by Eldora Henry, Barbara Tremblay and Polly Solberg. Dee and Jim Shettel helped put them up last year. Memorial Day has again come and gone. The cemeteries at Malta and Dodson were both nicely cared for and many beautiful decorations were on loved one's graves. Dora Henry was in Malta Saturday decorating graves and then getting a "perm.” The wind was blowing hard for several days and it made it a little hard on decorations. Polly Solberg returned home after visiting her brother Bert at Park Place Rehab in Great Falls. Doris Whitley visited at Dora Henry’s and Tammy Voice’s along with other friends and former associates while she was in Montana for the State basketball tournaments in which her granddaughter Jada played for Malta before she returned to California. It snowed again on Friday and Saturday so we have several inches of new snow and it has been cold. This is the most snow that we have had at one time all winter. Not so very good to all the ranchers around that are calving and lambing . Our thoughts are with them. We are more lucky than the people who live where they are having all the wild fires and so many homes and livestock destroyed. The School is having their Science Fair this week with judging on Thursday. Good luck students. This week has turned cold again with small amounts of snow nearly every day. Edward Solberg was able to come home from the hospital and has improved some. The boys and their families went home. Terri Cole was in Malta on Wednesday. Nora Weigand was in Great Falls Wednesday for a checkup from her stroke. She is improving all the time. Some of the ranchers are hoping things will start drying up some as they start to calve. We were sorry to hear that Edward Solberg had fallen and, having complications, he was taken to the Malta hospital on Friday and was found to have pneumonia, among other problems. Son Nathan came home on Friday and son Tim and family came home on Saturday. They all were in church with Polly on Sunday. Matt and Heidi Cole and two boys came home to visit Wink and Terri Cole a week ago but left early on Saturday to miss the storm. Matt said the roads were already bad in quite a few places. Billings and surrounding area have received an extraordinarily large amount of snow, having deep drifts and piles of snow around in the cities that they are not used to. While she was “snowed in” in Billings Polly Solberg was able to go to a gig and hear a musical group called “the Plaids”. She also attended granddaughter Amanda’s Sunday School program. On Sunday evening we received our first small skiff of snow with badly falling temperatures -- for all week with another small snow covering. We have had low and below zero temperatures all week. What a difference 24 hours can make in Montana. This cold spell seems to have hit the entire nation and many places have been hit harder than us.
