The Dodson Coyotes started the Class C basketball tournament with a hard-fought victory of 50-48 over Lustre giving the fans who were able to attend a hair-raising, cheering time. Great job, boys. Dodson has almost closed down tight as the very severe cold hangs in and everyone stays pretty well inside. Last Friday morning saw 36 degrees below and we received several inches of new snow on top of the two feet we already had which nobody was happy about. Hello with a mighty change from last week and beyond---the winter snow storm that moved in on us Monday and Tuesday has made a big difference here where we had none for weeks. It is such a heavy snow so hard to get around in and will keep you in its grip if you do get stuck----all the plows and plowers are busy every day moving it. A wonderful tribute to veterans noting Veterans Day on Saturday was presented at the school on Thursday with a trio under the direction of Kyla Messerly starting the program singing the National Anthem as the flags were presented. On Tuesday afternoon Dodson residents found themselves facing a dire situation — no water, due to some malfunction with the system. So dry, so hot, and the fair to start and no water. Phones were ringing trying to find out the problem and some people were quite concerned —some with no patience. It has continued to be super hot during the afternoons although mornings are usually surprisingly cool. The fires all over Montana are taking a terrible toll on acres of grass and trees destroyed. It is unbelievable how fast some of them have traveled and increased each day. We thank God for the fire fighters and the people who support and work with them.
