This week the smoke has been so thick in the air that I really believe that the dinosaurs went extinct when the sun was blocked out and vegetation was not available for them to eat! Of course, it would be a lit longer than here, but I do see how it could happen! The smoke is from the fires in the western states, including Montana! 7-25. The Loring Woman's Club met at Heather Simonson's home for the first meeting of the new year. We decided on our raffle prizes for the fall dance. Happy National Ice Cream Month! I actually had a small cone Sunday to celebrate Ice Cream Day! The Bike the US for MS bikers reached Malta right on schedule Sunday, July 15! They are biking from Bar Harbor, Maine, to Seattle, Washington, to raise money for MS research. I will be keeping track of them on their blog! This Saturday was the demise of many gophers in our area. A total of 28 were out seeing the sites and stopped in Loring at the Fire Hall fundraiser! The youngest person was Ivan Lefdahl, about 10-12 years old, teaming up with his grandpa Vic Lefdahl. I'm not sure who the oldest was... As I sit here writing the news, we are experiencing what I've been told is an old-fashioned blizzard. The snow started falling right after church, sideways and hasn't stopped yet at 7:30. Some of the day I could only see one power pole and usually, I can see 6 or 7. The snow was so thick I couldn't see Loring and those buildings are large! A funny thing happened on the way to the forum...I was thanked for helping a person unknown to me, find a long lost relative. Winter has made itself known again with a vengeance! We got more snow and colder temperatures, plus the wind!
